Job summary

RHB Banking Group is seeking an Associate Data Scientist in Malaysia to apply advanced analytics methods, generate actionable insights, and support data-driven decision-making across the bank.

You will work closely with business units to deliver analytics solutions, pilot new tools and platforms, and design statistical methods to meet evolving business needs while ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS, Economics, Finance, Math, Statistics, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in an Agile environment and strong communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Python, R, or SQL; SAS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess applicability of advanced analytics methods for business topics.
• Build methodologies and conduct advanced analytics to address business problems.
• Generate actionable insights from analytics outputs.
• Execute analytics projects and provide ad hoc analyses to business units.
• Pilot analytics methods, tools, and platforms.
• Design, develop, and execute analytical algorithms, techniques, and statistical methods to solve business requirements.
• Ensure timely delivery of analysis and proactively manage delays or issues.
• Maintain high quality and accuracy in all deliverables.
• Support business continuity of analytics deliverables.
• Understand the implications of advanced analytics methodologies and assist in defining solutions for future business needs.
