Job summary

Ansell is seeking an Assoc Specialist Mechanical Engineering to be based in Kulim Kedah. The role focuses on ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably to support manufacturing.

You will lead preventive and predictive maintenance, drive equipment reliability, and manage maintenance personnel to hit operational targets. Collaborate with production, engineering, and APS teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives and sustain manufacturing performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, reliability, or manufacturing engineering in a production environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
• Proven experience leading troubleshooting and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Experience managing and leading maintenance teams or technicians.
• Experience in machine upgrade, revamp, automation, or equipment improvement projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production machinery and equipment are maintained in optimal operating condition to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Monitor machine performance, downtime, and reliability metrics and drive actions to improve equipment effectiveness.
• Coordinate emergency maintenance and recovery activities to minimize production disruptions.
• Support APS initiatives within the Planned Maintenance pillar and promote autonomous maintenance and maintenance excellence.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability, productivity, quality, and cost performance.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or equivalent to improve operations.

The role will lead preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives, drive equipment reliability improvements, support manufacturing excellence programs, and manage maintenance personnel to achieve operational targets. The incumbent will work closely with production, engineering, and APS teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives and deliver sustainable manufacturing performance.

What Will Your Role Be?

1)Equipment Reliability & Maintenance

• Ensure production machinery and equipment are maintained in optimal operating condition to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Monitor machine performance, downtime, and reliability metrics and drive actions to improve equipment effectiveness.
• Coordinate emergency maintenance and recovery activities to minimize production disruptions.
• Support and drive APS (Ansell Performance System) initiatives within the Planned Maintenance (PM) Pillar.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Autonomous Maintenance and maintenance excellence practices.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to improve equipment reliability, productivity, quality, and cost performance.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies to improve operational effectiveness.
• Drive standardization, documentation, and sustainability of maintenance processes and best practices.

3)Engineering Projects & Machine Improvement

• Lead and support machine modification, upgrading, revamping, and automation projects.
• Provide technical justification, engineering analysis, and recommendations for equipment improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors on engineering projects and equipment-related activities.
• Support equipment commissioning, installation, and process optimization activities.
• Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and maintenance personnel.
• Allocate resources effectively to support maintenance and operational requirements.
• Monitor team performance and drive accountability for maintenance KPIs.
• Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

5)Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical reports, and engineering documentation.
• Prepare technical presentations, project proposals, and engineering justifications when required.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, engineering standards, safety regulations, and maintenance procedures.

What Will You Bring?

• Experience in maintenance, reliability, or manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
• Proven experience leading troubleshooting and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Experience managing and leading maintenance teams or technicians.
