Job summary

Aon in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Vice President - Energy Technical & Broking to join our Energy team. You will act as a key technical and broking specialist, supporting programme design, placement strategy, market execution and portfolio optimization for Energy clients.

Leverage strong energy and oil & gas risk knowledge to coordinate with international markets and deliver high-quality submissions and recommendations within tight placement timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in energy insurance, reinsurance or broking is essential.
• Strong technical knowledge of energy and oil & gas risks.
• Experience with upstream/downstream and property risks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical broking support across energy insurance and reinsurance programmes.
• Analyse exposures, programme structures, and coverage requirements.
• Support development and execution of portfolio and excess of loss strategies.
• Review coverage structures, limits, and wordings.
• Prepare market submissions and analyse quotations from insurers and reinsurers.
• Coordinate placements and discussions with Singapore, London and international markets.
• Identify coverage gaps and data deficiencies and other technical risks.
• Support negotiations and provide placement recommendations for clients.
• Collaborate with Claims, Risk Engineering, Analytics and other Aon specialists.

What The Day Will Look Like

The Assistant Vice President - Energy Technical & Broking will act as a key technical and broking specialist, supporting programme design, placement strategy, market execution and ongoing portfolio optimisation for Energy clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical broking support across Energy and Oil & Gas insurance and reinsurance programmes.
• Analyse exposures, programme structures, claims information and coverage requirements.
• Support the development and execution of portfolio and excess of loss reinsurance strategies.
• Review coverage structures, limits, deductibles, wordings, slips and endorsements.
• Prepare high-quality market submissions and analyse insurer and reinsurer quotations.
• Coordinate placements and technical discussions with Singapore, London and international markets.
• Identify coverage gaps, aggregation issues, data deficiencies and other technical risks.
• Support negotiations and develop clear placement recommendations for clients.
• Collaborate with Claims, Risk Engineering, Analytics, Capital Advisory and other Aon specialists as required.

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success

• Strong relevant experience in Energy insurance, reinsurance, underwriting or broking.
• Strong technical knowledge of Energy and Oil & Gas risks.
• Experience in Upstream, Downstream, Operational Property, CAR/EAR and/or reinsurance or excess of loss is preferred.
• Good understanding of placement strategy, coverage and insurance or reinsurance documentation.
• Experience working with international insurance and reinsurance markets is advantageous.
• Strong analytical capability, attention to detail and ability to explain technical matters clearly.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and deliver high-quality work within placement timelines.
