Job summary

K&B Global Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Underwriter who is detail-oriented, analytical, and highly motivated.

No prior underwriting experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided. In this role, you will work closely with senior underwriters to learn risk assessment, policy analysis, and data evaluation, developing the foundational skills needed for a successful career in insurance underwriting.

Qualifications

• Education: SPM/Diploma/Bachelor’s degree (in Finance, Insurance, Business Administration, Mathematics, or related fields are a plus).
• Technical Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (vlookup, pivot tables) for handling data sets.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail with the ability to process numerical data accurately and recognize patterns.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Risk Screening: Review insurance applications, endorsements, and renewals under guidance to ensure all required documentation and data are complete and compliant.
• Data Processing & Analysis: Enter and maintain accurate policy information within internal underwriting systems, identifying data discrepancies and summarizing risk profiles.
• Broker & Agent Relations: Act as a primary point of contact for brokers and sales agents, handling routing inquiries, requesting outstanding information, and providing status updates.
• Administrative Support: Prepare underwriting files, generate monthly portfolio reports, and assist with general administrative duties to ensure a smooth workflow.
