Job summary

Labuan Reinsurance (L) Ltd - Official Page is seeking an Underwriting Support professional in Kuala Lumpur who will assist in pre-underwrite treaty risks and support data-driven decision making. The role includes training, marketing support, and portfolio management to ensure accurate data entry and effective operations.

The candidate should hold a bachelor degree in Engineering, Risk Management, or Insurance, with experience in General Re-Insurance preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical/ Civil/ Electrical), Risk Management or Insurance.
• Experience in General Re-Insurance advantageous.
• Intermediate Excel with pivot tables; Power BI; ability to extract data from our internal booking system.
• Attention to detail, good judgment and strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Strong English communication; third language ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pre-underwrite treaty risks for the division with preparation of statistics.
• Attend training periodically internally and externally.
• Assist in administering marketing efforts for the division.
• Ensure correct data entry for the division by reviewing exception reports and rectifying data errors.
• Assist in providing administrative support to strategy construction, execution and monitoring of business plans.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements to achieve higher operational efficiency.

• Training - Attend training periodically internally and externally.
• Marketing - Assists in administering marketing efforts for the division.
• Portfolio Management - Ensuring correct data entry for the division by reviewing exception reports and rectifying data errors.
• Strategy construction and execution:-
• Assists in providing administrative support to the construction of the strategy, executing and monitoring business plans.
• Contributes to continuous process improvements to achieve higher operational efficiency.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor degree in in Engineering (Mechanical/ Civil/ Electrical), Risk Management, Insurance
• Those with some experience in General Re-Insurance will be advantageous
• Intermediate Excel with usage of pivot tables and Power BI and ability to extract data from our internal booking system.
• Attention to detail, good judgment and strong communication skills (written and verbal) - a clear articulation of ideas presented.
• Strong English communication with a 3rd language ability is preferred.
