Job summary

DSC Builder Sdn Bhd seeks a capable estimator/quantity surveyor to take-off quantities and assist in tender preparation for projects in Malaysia. You will compute prices, gather essential information, and support document control and compliance with the QMS.

Responsibilities include coordinating tender submissions, pre-qualifying subcontractors, and performing site measurements as needed while ensuring all QMS activities are followed and any related duties are fulfilled.

• Take-off quantities as required by Project Manager or General Manager.
• Compute or obtain prices or cost estimates as required by Project Manager or General Manager.
• In tender or business proposals, compute base prices and assist in obtaining information (materials, sub-contractors, labour, vendors, specifications, schedule of particulars, market conditions).
• Assist in coordinating tender document compilation, checking for completeness/compliance and timely submission.
• Pre-qualification of sub-contractors and vendors to shortlist suitably experienced/qualified entities for awards.
• Registration of incoming construction drawings and document control per the quality management system.
• Assist in joint site measurements and random audits of other site measurements.
• Ensure all QMS activities under assigned projects are implemented effectively.
• Responsible for other duties and functions stipulated in the QMS documents.

Job description

• · Responsible for taking-off quantities as and when required by Project Manager or General Manager.
• · Responsible for computing or obtaining prices or cost estimates as and when required by Project Manager or General Manager.
• · In tender or business proposal, tasks include, but not limited to, the following:
  (a) responsible for computing or obtaining base prices;
  (b) responsible or assists in obtaining pertinent information (e.g. materials, goods, products, sub-contractors, labour, vendors, suppliers, manufacturer’s specifications, method statement, schedule of particulars, market condition present and projected, etc.);
  (c) assists in coordinating compilation of tender document, checking for completeness/compliance and submission in a timely manner.
• · Responsible for pre-qualification exercise of sub-contractors and vendors to ensure that only suitably experienced and/or qualified sub-contractors and vendors are shortlisted to be potentially awarded with sub-contracts from the Company.
• · Responsible for registration of incoming construction drawings and implementing document control for assigned projects in accordance with the quality management system.
• · Assists in joint site measurements and carry out random audit on other site measurements, if necessary.
• · Ensures all QMS activities under the assigned Projects are implemented effectively.
• · Responsible for other duties and functions stipulated in the QMS documents.
