Assistant Manager, Tax & Treasury
BMW Group Malaysia

We are currently looking for an Assistant Manager, Tax & Treasury who will support the Head of Accounting, Tax & Internal Controls. The Key person will be handling the direct/indirect tax compliance topics for BMW Group Malaysia.

What awaits you?
Tax Accounting
  • Preparation of the Group’s monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisioning process in accordance with the relevant tax regulations and accounting standards, ensuring timely and accurate recognition of current and deferred taxes.
  • Reconcile tax balances to the general ledger on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness including income tax payable, deferred tax expenses/liabilities and service tax account.
  • Prepare and review tax disclosures and supporting schedules for statutory financial statements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits review by providing supporting documentation, tax workings and explanation of key tax positions.
  • Prepare the annual and quarterly tax questionnaires for submission to Group Tax Center.
Tax Compliance
  • Complete the tax queries template for tax consultant to prepare annual tax computations.
  • Review the annual tax computations and tax returns prepared by tax consultant.
  • Provision of tax information to transfer pricing consultant for the preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
  • Review the transfer pricing mechanism for intercompany services.
  • Manage the Group’s tax audits and tax appeals.
  • Monitor end-to-end e-invoicing process to ensure timely submission, accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with SAP support team to resolve e-invoicing errors or rejection.
Treasury matters
  • Maintain and update bank authorised signatories in bank portal.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
Other responsibilities
  • Review and process staff claims in accordance with Company’s policies and instructions.
  • Provide guidance related to staff claims when necessary.
  • Lead the implementation and enhancement of SAP/Treasury/e-invoicing integration projects.
What you should bring along?
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
  • An additional professional qualification (CTIM, ACCA, MIA) will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a tax division within a multinational company or public accounting firm.
  • Good written and spoken English, and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Microsoft Word & Excel knowledge.
  • Knowledge in SAP systems is an added advantage.
