Job summary

Sime Darby Property is seeking an HSE Operations professional to plan and coordinate HSSE initiatives across the group’s property development projects. You will align operational practices with Group HSSE strategies and monitor progress, risks, and performance outcomes.

The role emphasizes supporting HSE discipline across units, documenting best practices, and contributing to environmental management initiatives in line with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advance Diploma/Degree in OSH, Science, Engineering or relevant qualifications.
• Possessed valid DOSH safety competency certificates/NEBOSH IGC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate HSSE Operational Plans aligned with Group HSSE strategies and business priorities.
• Coordinate inputs from units to define, monitor HSSE initiatives, improvement programmes, and capability plans.
• Monitor execution of planned HSSE initiatives and track progress, risks and outcomes.
• Support consistent HSE practices across projects, including PTW, PTB and interventions.
• Assist in strengthening operational discipline by rolling out HSE standards and procedures.
• Identify recurring HSE gaps and support targeted improvement actions.
• Consolidate and analyse HSE data to provide insights for management planning.
• Support manpower and workload planning for adequate HSE coverage.
• Apply HSE guidance to daily operations and monitor closure actions across projects.

Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing HSE operational initiatives across Sime Darby Property by ensuring consistent implementation of HSE strategies, operational practices, and improvement programmes. The role provides operational support, coordination, and performance visibility to strengthen HSE discipline, compliance, and continuous improvement across projects and business and operating units.

Job Responsibilities

Business:

HSE Operational Planning

• Support the Manager, HSE Operations in developing and coordinating HSSE Operational Plans aligned with Group HSSE strategies and business priorities.
• Coordinate planning inputs from business/operating units to ensure HSSE initiatives, improvement programmes, and capability development plans are clearly defined and monitored.
• Monitor the implementation of planned HSSE initiatives and support the tracking of progress, risks, and performance outcomes.

Operational Discipline & Consistency

• Support the consistent implementation of HSE operational practices across projects and business units, including critical controls such as PTW, PTB, and HSE interventions.
• Assist in strengthening operational discipline by supporting the rollout and upkeep of HSE standards, procedures, and operational practices.
• Identify recurring operational HSE gaps and support the implementation of targeted improvement actions.

Operational Visibility & Decision Support

• Support the consolidation and analysis of HSE operational data to provide insights for management planning and decision-making.
• Support manpower and workload planning initiatives to ensure adequate HSE operational coverage.

Operational Alignment & Execution

• Support business units in applying HSE guidance into daily operations and project activities.
• Maintain registers of HSE improvement actions and monitor the progress of closure actions across projects and operations.
• Assist in documenting and sharing HSE best practices across Property Development projects.
• Support the implementation of environmental management practices across projects to ensure compliance with environmental laws, approval conditions, and corporate environmental commitments.
• Assist in monitoring environmental performance and supporting the implementation of environmental initiatives across Property Development operations.
• Supporting the Manager, HSE Operations in implementing Group HSE digitalisation initiatives and operational improvement programmes.
• Contribute to the adoption of innovative tools and practices to strengthen HSE operational effectiveness.

People Development

• Attend training for self-development in HSSE competency and culture, leadership competencies, and others identified by immediate superior and/or the Management.

Job Dimension (Impact and accountabilities)

• Support the Manager, HSE Operations in ensuring effective execution of HSE operational plans, initiatives, and improvement programmes across Property Development business units.
• Contribute to strengthening operational discipline and consistency in HSE practices across projects and operations.
• Support monitoring and preparing reports of HSE performance indicators, operational insights, and improvement actions to enhance management decision-making.
• Assist in ensuring business units maintain compliance with relevant HSE legal requirements, internal standards, and management systems.
• Support coordination between Group HSE and operations to ensure alignment and effective implementation of HSE strategies and programmes.

Education/ Professional Qualification

• Diploma/Advance Diploma/Degree in OSH,/Science/ Engineering / or any relevant qualifications.
• Possessed relevant valid DOSH safety competency certificates/NEBOSH IGC

Professional Experience

• Minimum 3 years’experience on field HSE/Operations or Project Management
• Preferably well verse with Microsoft 365 digital tools (PowerBI, PowerAutomate, PowerApps)
• Construction, building management experienced preferred.
