AmMetLife Insurance Berhad in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Manager Financial Risk Management to support the CRO and lead risk governance initiatives.

You will coordinate across functions to identify, measure, mitigate, and report financial risk, support liquidity and RAS reporting, and ensure compliance with local and group policies. The role blends risk oversight with business partnership to optimize risk-adjusted returns.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of experience in actuarial, pricing or risk management in an insurance or financial services company.
• Graduate degree in finance or actuarial science; pursuing professional designation such as Actuarial, CERA, Financial Risk Management, etc.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with Excel modeling experience.

Responsabilités

• Support the CRO and Head, Financial Risk Management to implement ERMF and related policies and to carry out local requirements.
• Coordinate with other functions to ensure risks in financial risk are identified, measured, mitigated, and reported; act as a value-added business partner for risk-adjusted returns.
• Work with risk management team to meet regulatory requirements related to risk governance and management.
• Oversee liquidity and RAS reporting; produce consolidated risk reports and monitor risk from a financial perspective.
• Support business growth and changes, including product reviews and risk assessments.

Responsibilities:

• This role will support the CRO and Head, Financial Risk Management to implement Enterprise Risk Management Framework and other policies and to carry other tasks as per local requirements.
• The candidate shall coordinate with other functional areas to ensure risks in particularly financial risk are identified, measured, mitigated/managed, and monitored/reported, and shall be a value-added business partner by pursing risk adjusted return optimization.
• The candidate shall also work with the other risk management team members to meet all regulatory requirements in relation to the risk governance and management.
• Ongoing enterprise and local risk management activities and engage business partners to optimize financial performance within risk tolerance. This includes: a) Responsible for MetLife’s liquidity (Quarterly) and other regional requirement b) Local consolidated risk report (Monthly) including RAS reporting.
• Support business growth and key changes. This includes: a) Perform product reviews including customer suitability review b) Independent review on product risk assessment template.
• Manage stakeholders’ expectation and build trust. This includes: a) Secretary to the Governance Risk & Compliance Committee b) Compliance Ambassador for Risk Management team.
• Support the CRO to continue rolling out new/ review financial risk management framework. This includes: ERMF, RAS, liquidity risk policy, credit risk management policy and other MetLife and local policies.
• Risk monitoring and reporting. This includes: a) Consolidated risk report, including RAS reporting b) Other monitoring and tracking from financial risk perspective.
• Sustainability and climate risk management. This includes: a) sustainability and climate risk management b) sustainability and climate RAS reporting.

Requirements:

• Financial Risk / Sustainability and Climate Risk / Actuarial (valuation, pricing, reporting) knowledge and working experience with strong quantitative and analytic skills, including modeling skills in Excel.
• 4-6 years of working experience and exposure in a relevant field, such as actuarial, pricing or risk management functions in an insurance or financial services company.
• Graduate degree in finance, actuarial science and/or pursuing professional designation such as Actuarial, CERA, Financial Risk Management etc.
