Job summary

Skye Renewables Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager - Finance & Operations to oversee day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and treasury activities for the Malaysia entities. You will work closely with the Regional Head of Finance and Operations in a lean, fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong Xero proficiency, multi-entity experience, and a solid grounding in Malaysian tax and statutory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or related finance role.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing a full set of accounts and month-end close.
• Experience in a group or multi-entity environment preferred.
• Exposure to project-based, infrastructure, renewable energy, or other capital-intensive businesses advantageous.
• Hands-on proficiency with Xero strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, management reporting, reconciliations, internal controls, and month-end close.
• Working knowledge of Malaysian tax, payroll, statutory compliance, and intercompany transactions.
• Experience coordinating statutory audits and preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
• High integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial and employee information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the full set of accounting records in Xero, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, and month-end close.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, MIS reporting, and financial analyses for management and Group Finance.
• Prepare and reconcile intercompany invoices, balances, loans, advances, and interest transactions.
• Ensure accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting across the Malaysia entities.
• Support the implementation and ongoing application of approved financial control procedures, including controls over accounting, payments, cash and financial reporting.
• Monitor operating costs, supplier payments, and capital expenditure against budgets and forecasts.
• Review transactions to ensure appropriate accounting treatment, approvals, documentation, and compliance.
• Identify control gaps or process improvements and recommend appropriate actions to the Head of Finance and Operations.

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager - Finance & Operations to support the finance and operational activities of Skye Renewables Malaysia Sdn Bhd and its subsidiaries.

Reporting to the Regional Head of Finance and Operations, this role will take ownership of day-to-day accounting and financial reporting, while supporting financial controls, treasury and financing, tax, audit, statutory compliance, and selected HR and payroll administration. The role is well suited to someone who takes ownership, enjoys working independently in a lean environment, and gaining broad exposure across the finance function of a fast-growing renewable energy platform.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain the full set of accounting records in Xero, including reconciliations, supporting schedules, and month-end close
• Prepare monthly management accounts, MIS reporting, and financial analyses for management and Group Finance

Treasury, Cash Management & Financing

• Monitor bank balances and support preparation of rolling cash flow forecasts
• Process payments in accordance with the company’s approval matrix
• Administer bank accounts and intercompany financing arrangements
• Review and validate vendor invoices and supporting documentation prior to payment

Tax, Audit & Statutory Compliance

• Coordinate and review corporate income tax computations and returns prepared by external tax advisers
• Support compliance with Malaysian tax requirements, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, SST, transfer pricing, and e-Invoicing
• Coordinate annual statutory audits, prepare audit schedules, and respond to audit queries
• Prepare draft financial statements for review by the Head of Finance and Operations
• Maintain the statutory compliance calendar and coordinate with the company secretary on required filings

HR & Payroll Administration

• Maintain employee records, onboarding and offboarding documentation in the HR system
• Coordinate with the payroll provider on payroll matters and review statutory contribution reports, including EPF, SOCSO, and EIS
• Review employee expense claims and maintain appropriate confidentiality over employee and payroll information

Group & Stakeholder Coordination

• Act as a key finance contact for Malaysia operations, working closely with Group Finance and other internal teams
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisers, banks, lenders, company secretaries, and HR/payroll providers
• Identify and elevate financial, tax, control, or compliance matters with clear analysis and recommended actions

Who You Are
