Job summary

SD Guthrie Berhad, a leading CSPO producer, seeks an Assistant Manager to lead Communications, Guest Relations & Housekeeping initiatives across refurbishment and operations.

You will develop internal and external communications, manage guest inquiries, oversee housekeeping during upgrades, and support operational readiness with project teams, budgets, and reports. Strong leadership and English skills required.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience including team supervision, coaching, mentoring, or coordination of colleagues.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in hospitality, guest relations, or operations management is a plus.
• Proven ability to coordinate projects and service providers.

Assistant Manager, Communications, Guest Relations & Housekeeping

Your Mission

Communications & Stakeholder Engagement

Assist in developing and implementing internal and external communication plans and initiatives.

Prepare and coordinate announcements, reports, promotional materials, guest communications, and stakeholder correspondence.

Support Management in communications relating to refurbishment activities, operational updates, and guest information.

Maintain effective working relationships with guests, tenants, contractors, vendors, and other key stakeholders.

Ensure communications are timely, accurate, consistent, and aligned with Management’s direction.

2. Guest Relations & Experience

Ensure professional and timely handling of guest enquiries, feedback, complaints, and service requests.

Monitor guest satisfaction and identify opportunities to enhance the overall guest experience.

Support the development and implementation of guest experience standards, policies, procedures, and service guidelines.

Assist in coordinating corporate visits, events, and stakeholder engagement activities.

Gather guest feedback and operational insights to support continuous improvement of service standards.

3. Housekeeping Operations

Assist in planning, coordinating, and overseeing housekeeping activities to maintain cleanliness, safety, hygiene, and presentation standards.

Coordinate cleaning schedules and housekeeping requirements during refurbishment and upgrading works.

Conduct regular inspections and follow up on identified issues to ensure compliance with established standards.

Monitor housekeeping inventory, supplies, equipment, and related operational requirements.

Coordinate and monitor housekeeping contractors and service providers to ensure satisfactory service delivery.

4. Operational Readiness & Project Support

Work closely with project teams, contractors, and relevant operational departments to minimise disruption during refurbishment and upgrading works.

Assist in developing operational readiness plans, SOPs, service standards, and operating guidelines.

Support the implementation and monitoring of operational initiatives to prepare Elaeis Gardens for future hospitality operations.

Prepare management reports, budgets, performance indicators, and project implementation updates as required.

Support steering committee presentations and provide updates on project and operational readiness status.

Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.

Ideal Candidate

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Communications, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.

Minimum3–5 years of relevant experience in hospitality, guest relations, communications, housekeeping, or operations management.

Prior experience in one or more of the following areas will be an advantage:

Demonstrated leadership experience, including team supervision, coaching, mentoring, or coordination of colleagues and service providers.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

Good organisational, problem-solving, and project coordination abilities.

Strong command of spoken and written English; proficiency in additional languages will be an advantage.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a diverse team.

Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic environment, particularly during refurbishment, upgrading, and operational transition.

Strong service orientation with a commitment to maintaining high standards of guest experience, operational readiness, and service excellence.
