Job summary

AIA Hong Kong and Macau is looking for a Manager, Cloud Services based in Kuala Lumpur. This role focuses on operational performance of AIA’s shared Public Cloud services with primary support for Azure and AWS environments.

The successful candidate will have over 5 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, demonstrating excellent understanding of Public Cloud implementation and automation use cases. Responsibilities include support of multi-cloud environments, liaising with service providers, and ensuring compliance to security standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant experience in Cloud Engineering / Support role.
• Excellent understanding and proven experience in Public Cloud implementation.
• Proven experience with professional certifications (Azure, AWS).
• Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Understanding of Infrastructure‑As‑Code tooling.

About the Role

The overarching objective of the Manager, Cloud Services is to assist the wider team with the operational performance of AIA’s Group shared Public Cloud services. The role will ensure the smooth operation of the Public Cloud services by responding to business unit requests and will work closely with the Cloud Engineer, Automation to identify new use cases for automation from frequent provisioning or support requests. Support of cloud environments such as Azure (primary) and AWS is expected, while working with changing priorities from the team and other teams within Group Technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist in support of AIA multi‑cloud environment (predominantly Azure with AliCloud and AWS footprint).
• Liaise with service providers to ensure operational processes (backup, patching, provisioning, monitoring) and incident management.
• Improve operational efficiency via use‑case definition with the Automation Engineer.
• Support Group Technical Risk to ensure compliance to all security requirements and standards.
• Support non‑standard cloud services that might not be covered in AIA service provider contracts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant experience in Cloud Engineering / Support role.
• Excellent understanding and proven experience in Public Cloud implementation, workload migration and operational support in a multi‑site enterprise environment.
• Proven experience with professional certifications (Azure, AWS, etc.).
• Experience with Microsoft PowerShell.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Understanding of Infrastructure‑As‑Code tooling (Terraform, Ansible, Saltstack, Chef/Puppet).
• Ability to define use‑cases for automation and service improvement.
• Practical experience supporting Enterprise Public Cloud Services and automation.
• Life insurance experience within a regional or multinational scope is an advantage.
• Experience within a decentralized organization, preferably within the Group unit.
• Sound understanding of IT operating model design and best practices.
