You will execute within a defined style, collaborating with the Illustrator Principal to translate direction into production-ready visuals with high polish, while meeting community aesthetic standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an illustrator, KV artist, or layout/compositing artist.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong composition and asset placement.
• Genuine understanding of ACGN community aesthetic standards.
• Able to execute within established creative direction or style guide.
• Strong technical execution: composition, layout, color harmony, finishing polish.
• Reliable, production-minded, able to deliver a steady volume of work.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin or other SEA languages is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Produce Key Visuals (KV) for PlayPark's SEA region titles by composing, arranging, and laying out established characters, assets, and creative direction into polished final visuals.
• Execute within a defined creative direction and style guide, prioritizing strong composition, placement, and layout over originating new concepts.
• Apply sound ACGN-community aesthetic judgment to ensure every KV reads as authentic and on-genre.
• Judge and adjust composition, pose, and framing to maximize emotional impact, even from a fixed concept.
• Collaborate with the Illustrator Principal and creative team to translate established direction into production-ready assets.
• Maintain consistent technical quality and production cadence across a higher volume of asset-placement and layout-focused work.
• Flag cases where a brief or asset combination can't achieve the intended result.
• Support the Illustrator Principal by handling execution-heavy KV work.

Job description

We are looking for an Assistant Illustrator Principal to support the production of Key Visuals (KV) for PlayPark's SEA region titles, focused on strong composition, asset placement, and layout execution within an established creative direction. This position does not require originating highly divergent creative concepts from scratch. What matters most is craft: taking existing characters, assets, and creative direction and arranging them into visuals that read cleanly, compose well, and land with genuine emotional impact. You are expected to execute reliably within a defined style. Work must still resonate emotionally and hold up against ACGN community aesthetic standards. You will work closely with the Illustrator Principal and broader creative team to bring established direction to life at a consistently high level of polish.

Key responsibilities

Apply sound ACGN-community aesthetic judgment to ensure every KV reads as authentic and on-genre, catching details that would read as off to the target audience

Judge and adjust composition, pose, and framing to maximize emotional impact, even when working from a fixed concept or brief

Collaborate closely with the Illustrator Principal and creative team to translate established direction into production-ready assets efficiently and reliably

Maintain consistent technical quality and production cadence across a higher volume of asset-placement and layout-focused work

Flag cases where a brief or asset combination genuinely can't achieve the intended emotional or aesthetic result, rather than forcing a weak layout through

Support the Illustrator Principal by handling execution-heavy KV work, freeing up bandwidth for higher-concept, more divergent pieces

About you

2+ years of experience as an illustrator, KV artist, or layout/compositing artist, with a portfolio demonstrating strong composition and asset placement skill

Genuine, informed understanding of ACGN community aesthetic standards, able to recognize what reads as authentic within the genre

Comfortable executing within an established creative direction or style guide, rather than requiring full creative latitude to produce strong work

Solid instinct for emotional impact through composition, pose, and framing, even without originating the underlying concept

Strong technical execution: composition, layout, color harmony, and finishing polish

Reliable, production-minded, able to deliver consistent quality across a steady volume of work

Fluent in English; Mandarin or other SEA languages is an advantage
