Assistant HR Manager, Industrial Relations
Full-time position.

Role A human resource partner who builds and maintains a harmonious industrial relations climate through strategic collaboration with employees and management, specializing in Industrial Relations while supporting general HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice, counsel and resolution to managers on a broad range of employee issues, policy integration and interpretation, work conditions and employee development in compliance with the Labor Law.
- Manage disciplinary issues, recommending appropriate action and conducting domestic inquiries, drafting show cause letters and related disciplinary documentation.
- Support resolution of employee relations issues by conducting investigations, scheduling events, identifying witnesses, collecting information, selecting panel members and preparing exhibits.
- Identify and implement positive employee relations programs to promote an efficient and motivated workforce.
- Establish strong relationships with industry players, legal practitioners and relevant government and non-governmental agencies.
- Maintain awareness of changes to HR legislation and judicial precedents affecting Industrial Relations.
- Manage the hiring process from requisition and sourcing through interview and offer stages, supporting talent acquisition initiatives aligned with business needs.
- Ensure continuity of HR operations, including timely payroll function execution and accurate, up-to-date employee records in HRIS.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in a similar capacity with specialization in Industrial Relations matters.
- Postgraduate education and HR professional accreditation.
- Sound knowledge of Malaysia Employment Act 1955 and Industrial Relations Act 1967.
- Experience conducting domestic inquiry sessions, report writing and, preferably, attending cases at the court level.
- Strong interpersonal skills, tactful communication, multitasking ability and analytical thinking beyond prima facie.
- Proactive, detail-oriented and collaborative approach.
