Job summary

Pullman Kuching is seeking an Assistant Housekeeper – Public Area to supervise cleanliness of all hotel public spaces and uphold high standards for guests and colleagues.

You will oversee daily cleaning tasks, inspect areas, train staff, and coordinate with other departments to ensure safety and presentation that reflects the hotel’s luxury image.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Housekeeping, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Open to Malaysian candidates only; preferably local Sarawakian.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Good leadership and team coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily cleaning and maintenance of hotel public areas.
• Ensure lobby, corridors, washrooms, lifts and restaurants meet hotel standards.
• Assign daily duties and monitor Public Area Attendants’ performance.
• Conduct inspections to maintain cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Coordinate with other departments on maintenance issues in public areas.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and related concerns.
• Train and guide staff on cleaning procedures and service standards.
• Ensure proper handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals.

Job Summary
The Assistant Housekeeper – Public Area is responsible for supervising the cleanliness and upkeep of all hotel public areas, ensuring a clean, safe and pleasant environment for guests and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily cleaning and maintenance of hotel public areas.
• Ensure the lobby, corridors, washrooms, lifts, restaurants, function areas and other public spaces are maintained to hotel standards.
• Assign daily duties and monitor the performance of Public Area Attendants.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained.
• Ensure cleaning equipment, chemicals and supplies are used correctly and safely.
• Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and request replenishment when required.
• Coordinate with Engineering and other departments on maintenance issues identified in public areas.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and cleanliness-related concerns.
• Ensure proper cleaning schedules and checklists are followed.
• Train, coach and guide Public Area Attendants on cleaning procedures and service standards.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Report any safety hazards, damages or maintenance issues to the relevant department.
• Assist with deep cleaning and special cleaning projects when required.
• Ensure compliance with hotel, hygiene, safety and Accor housekeeping standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Housekeeping, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Good knowledge of public area cleaning procedures and standards.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Good leadership and team coordination skills.
• Responsible, hardworking and service-oriented.
• Able to work independently and manage daily operational tasks.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
