About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Hotel Manager to join our dynamic hospitality team at Anson Funtelz Sdn Bhd in Kluang, Johor. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to develop your management skills in a fast-paced hotel environment. As Assistant Hotel Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the General Manager and overseeing day-to-day hotel operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. This position is integral to the success of our hotel and offers significant potential for career progression within our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily hotel operations and ensure smooth functioning of all departments, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance
• Manage guest relations and resolve complaints or concerns promptly and professionally to maintain customer satisfaction
• Supervise and coordinate staff scheduling, training, and performance management to ensure a motivated and efficient team
• Monitor financial performance, including budgeting and cost control measures, to maximise profitability
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations throughout the hotel premises
• Liaise with department heads to implement standard operating procedures and quality standards
• Support the Manager in strategic planning and implementation of hotel initiatives
• Handle administrative duties including correspondence, reporting, and documentation
• Maintain records of occupancy rates, revenue, and operational metrics
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in hotel management or a related hospitality management role
• Proven track record of successfully managing hotel operations and leading diverse teams
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
• Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Sound knowledge of hospitality industry standards, regulations, and best practices
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
• Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask
• Fluency in English and Malay; additional languages are advantageous
