Job summary

Allied Precision Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd in Malacca is seeking an experienced Engineer to lead New Project Start-Up and oversee milestones through customer approval. This hands-on role requires strong material knowledge and a track record in metal stamping or precision machining.

You will coordinate process layout planning, BOM generation, jig/fixture design, and drive continuous improvements including kaizen, process poka-yoke, and ECO implementations to deliver high-quality products.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Metal Stamping knowledge and experience in Tool Manufacturing from concept.
• Strong problem analysis and process improvement skills.
• Experience as Manager specialized in Engineering - Mechanical/Automotive or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead New Project Start-Up milestones until customer approval.
• Define process layout planning, cycle time, work instructions, and layout planning.
• Generate BOM, design and fabricate jigs and fixtures.
• Perform Failure Analysis on parts/products at customer end or outgoing.
• Plan productivity improvements related to Process Layout Planning.
• Lead Engineering Change implementation to ensure accurate completion.
• Evaluate products internally and externally.
• Collaborate with Production to implement poka-yoke for quality.
• Derive Kaizen activities to improve processes, productivity and quality.
• Ensure accurate New Product Run and BOM accuracy.
• Contribute to product engineering changes.
• Uphold the image of the Engineering Dept.

Job description

A) Responsible to lead the New Project Start Up, with the responsibility of

leading the project milestone till obtaining approval from customer.

B) Process Layout Planning

[include cycle time definition; work instruction generation; assembly layout planning; process parameter]

• Bill of Material generation
• Jig and Fixture design and fabrication
• Other activities, related to New Product Start-Up

C) Responsible to the Current Product, with the responsibility of

• Perform Failure Analysis to the Part or Product when failure [both mechanical and functional] occur at customer end or at Outgoing Section.
• Productivity improvement of the current project, and make plans for the improvement with respect to the Process Layout Planning.
• Responsible to the Engineering Change implementation, initiated both Internal or External, to ensure the accurate completion of the changes.
• Perform on product evaluation both internal and external.
• Liase with Production Section to make plans for process poka-yoke to deliver good quality product
• Derive Kaizen Activities to derive improvement with respect to Processes, Productivity and Quality.
• Accurate and efficient completion on New Product Run
• Accuracy in BOM Creation
• Productivity enhancement to the Production Processes
• Accurate implementation in Product Engineering Change
• Management mindset to uphold the image of the Engineering Dept.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Min 3 years’ experience in Metal Stamping or Precision Machining
• Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• Preferably Metal Stamping knowledge, experience in Tool Manufacturing from Tool Conceptualization.
• Strong hands-on experience in Problem Analysis & Process Improvement.
• Preferably Manager specialized in Engineering - Mechanical/Automotive or equivalent.
