Job summary

Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club is seeking an Assistant Chief Steward to assist the Chief Steward in daily stewarding operations for kitchen, restaurant and banquet services. The role focuses on cleanliness, hygiene, equipment readiness and cost control, ensuring smooth service during events.

You will supervise stewarding staff, plan rosters, monitor supplies, and coordinate with Kitchen, Restaurant and Banquet teams to support daily events. Experience in hygiene and inventory is preferred.

Job description

To assist the Chief Steward in managing daily stewarding operations, ensuring all kitchen, restaurant and banquet equipment is clean, hygienic, properly stored and available for operations. The Assistant Chief Steward is also responsible for manpower planning, equipment control, cleanliness and cost management.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise stewarding staff and assign daily duties according to operational requirements
• Prepare duty rosters and plan manpower efficiently
• Ensure all plates, cutlery, glassware, kitchen utensils and banquet equipment are cleaned, sanitised and ready on time
• Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing areas, kitchens, stores, drains, grease traps, loading areas and rubbish disposal areas
• Ensure correct use and storage of cleaning chemicals according to safety requirements
• Monitor stock levels of cleaning chemicals, garbage bags and stewarding supplies
• Conduct regular inventory checks for chinaware, glassware, cutlery and kitchen equipment
• Record and report all breakages, losses, shortages and damaged equipment
• Control unnecessary wastage, overtime and part-time manpower costs
• Coordinate with Kitchen, Restaurant and Banquet teams regarding daily events and equipment requirements
