Job summary

Hilton in Sabah, Malaysia, is seeking a Steward to join our kitchen team. You’ll be the backbone of our kitchen, keeping serviceware spotless and ensuring compliance with health and sanitation standards to deliver memorable guest experiences.

As a Steward, you will monitor stock levels, assist with events, and train junior team members. The role requires a Junior Middle School Diploma or equivalent and experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have basic cleaning and sanitation knowledge.
• Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation standards is beneficial.
• Experience in a hotel stewarding environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Keep serviceware spotless: Clean chinaware, silverware, and utensils; scrub pots and pans; burnish silver.
• Monitor stock levels: Ensure supplies and equipment are well stocked and organized for service.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness: Perform cleaning tasks including mopping and trash removal.
• Support events delivery: Prepare and set up clean serviceware for banquets and functions.
• Train and mentor team members: Share expertise with new stewards to strengthen team performance.
• Comply with regulatory standards: Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations.
