Job summary

MSA Safety Inc. is seeking an Accountant in Malaysia to join our finance team. You will support general ledger activities, asset accounting, and monthly/year-end closings, ensuring compliance with internal and statutory reporting requirements.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform intercompany reconciliations, and assist during audits. Strong Excel skills and knowledge of US GAAP/SOX are advantageous for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• 2 years of relevant work experience required.
• Strong understanding of financial analysis and accounting concepts.
• Familiar with internal controls and SOX requirements.
• Excellent Excel skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Experience with SAP ECC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, document, and maintain GL monthly journal entries.
• Fixed asset accounting incl. PPE additions and depreciation.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and document SOX compliance.
• Complete intercompany reconciliations and revaluations.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
• Support year-end audits and prepare audit files.
• Collect required information for SAP updates.
• Handle ad-hoc tasks as required.
