Job summary

Flintex Consulting Pte Ltd in Malaysia seeks an Assembly Process Engineer to own and stabilize manufacturing processes, drive cost-reduction and improvements, and ensure ISO-compliant documentation.

The role requires 1-3 years of experience, a degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Manufacturing Engineering, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills; you will train technicians and coordinate process transfers across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Tool and Die, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of assigned assembly processes and ensure their stability, capability and compliance.
• Drive continuous process improvement, cost-reduction and design-improvement initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain product-structure and routing data in the MFG/PRO system.
• Conduct root-cause investigations into process abnormalities, production issues and customer complaints, and implement corrective actions.
• Train Assembly Technicians and Supervisors on assembly processes, operating requirements and process controls.
• Review tooling drawings and recommend changes from process or design improvements.
• Prepare, maintain and control process documentation, including Work Instructions and ISO-compliant records.
• Conduct machine buy-off and set up new assembly lines for production.
• Implement process-control measures for assembly operations.
• Initiate localisation of components and support Purchasing in vendor development.
• Coordinate product transfers from other sites as part of cost-reduction or capacity programmes.
• Communicate changes to affected departments and stakeholders.
• Maintain document control for assembly machines and related processes.
