Job summary

Flintex Consulting Pte Ltd in Malaysia seeks an experienced Assembly Process Engineer to design and optimize semi-automatic and fully automatic assembly lines for new products. You will plan, execute, and oversee manufacturing processes with a focus on quality, yield, and cost efficiency.

The role requires 5–7 years of process development experience in mechanical engineering, with hands-on knowledge of robotics integration (KUKA, UR, ABB, Yumi) and vision systems (Keyence, Cognex).

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of process development experience.
• Proficient in Mechanical Design and Solid Mechanics.
• Knowledge of robot integration with KUKA, UR, ABB, and Yumi.
• Strong project management abilities.
• Knowledge of vision inspection systems (Keyence, PPT, Cognex).

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize assembly processes for semi-auto or fully automatic machines.
• Plan, execute and complete assembly with timing and quality targets.
• Lead design, fabrication, assembly, debug and test runs.
• Define automation specs, source vendors, coordinate tests and SPC.
• Coordinate with machine vendors to meet deadlines.
• Set process parameters and update process specifications.
• Ensure production output, quality and yield during transfer.
• Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Job Descriptions

• Conceptualize the assembly process either in semi-auto, fully automatic machines or multi-purpose fixtures for new products with both quality and cost considerations.
• Plan, execute and complete assembly process per the established timing and quality requirements.
• Assist or wholly responsible for design, coordinating fabrication, assembly, debug and test run the equipment.
• Spell out specifications and requirements for automation processes, source for vendors to quote, coordinate the projects, test run and qualify the machine using SPC tools and complete the final setup.
• Coordinate with machine vendors for all new machines. Assist the vendors and ensure completion date is met.
• Establish process parameters for all new assembly operations/machines and update all process specifications or issues before release to manufacturing.
• Responsible for production output, quality & yield during the transfer phase to production.
• Responsible to assist with investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for manufacturing quality issues.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor / Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or other relevant discipline
• Minimum 5-7 years of process development experience with excellent grasp of Engineering and Design principles.
• Proficient with Mechanical Design, Solid Mechanics theory and its application to product design
• Knowledge in process development and integration with robots (KUKA, UR, ABB & Yumi robots).
• Possess Project management abilities
• Knowledge in vision inspection machine and systems (Keyence, PPT and Cognex)
