Job summary

Synthomer is seeking a seasoned Process Safety professional to lead PS Management efforts across sites and act as the regional SME for Butadiene handling. The role emphasizes strengthening safety standards, mentoring staff and delivering performance indicators within a global safety framework.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years in chemical processing safety, NEBOSH or similar qualifications, and the ability to drive cross-disciplinary teams across Asia, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering preferred.
• 3–5 years’ experience in chemical industry, preferably CIMAH sites and/or butadiene management.
• Safety qualifications preferable (e.g. NEBOSH, Certified Functional Safety Engineer).
• Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to mentor technical staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to travel within Asia region.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support in Process Safety Management (PSM) across sites.
• Support strengthening of global SHE standards through auditing and sharing best practices.
• Support development, reporting and analysis of Process Safety Performance Indicators.
• Serve as regional SME in handling and management of Butadiene.
• Facilitate risk assessment processes (HAZID, HAZOP, HAC, SIL, LOPA) for studies.
• Support implementation of PSM initiatives and 3-year SHE Improvement Plans.
