Job summary

Open Energy Transition, a nonprofit focused on open energy modelling, seeks a Market Development Lead for Asia. The role accelerates adoption across priority markets by building relationships with operators, ministries and regulators, and by shaping projects that advance open modelling.

You will engage with senior decision makers, articulate regional energyplanning needs, and help identify funding pathways.

Qualifications

Strong regional networks across priority Asian markets.
Meaningful relationships with energy sector institutions in at least some priority markets.
Understanding how energy planning decisions are influenced and who shapes them.
Technical credibility in energy system modelling.

Responsibilities

Build relationships with system operators, ministries, regulators, consultants and research institutions.
Grow awareness of open source energy modelling through events and networks.
Turn conversations into concrete project concepts and opportunities.
Identify funding routes when needed to enable adoption and collaboration with leadership.
Respond to tenders or procurement processes with relevant institutions.
Act as Open Energy Transition's eyes and ears in Asia and report insights to leadership.
Advise technical teams on regional energy system modelling context.
