Foreign candidates must hold a degree from a Faculty of Education or possess a Diploma in Education, in addition to having a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience. These requirements are in accordance with the regulations set by the Ministry of Education Malaysia and the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

About the role

IMAS International School is seeking experienced and passionate Arabic Teachers for both Primary and Secondary levels. This is a full-time position based in Kajang/Putrajaya. As an Arabic Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing students' linguistic competence, cultural awareness, and appreciation for the Arabic language and Islamic heritage. This position is fundamental to our commitment to providing a globally-minded, multilingual education that prepares students to thrive in an interconnected world.

What you'll be doing

Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Arabic lessons that cater to the needs of Secondary students, ensuring content is age-appropriate and aligned with curriculum standards

Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote active learning, critical thinking and cultural understanding

Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to develop confidence and fluency in Arabic communication

Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods, providing constructive feedback to support their development

Prepare and maintain detailed records of student attendance, performance and progress, communicating regularly with parents and guardians

Collaborate with colleagues across the school to integrate Arabic language learning with other subjects and school initiatives

Participate in curriculum development and review processes to ensure teaching materials remain current, relevant and engaging

Support extracurricular Arabic language activities and cultural events that enhance student learning experiences

Maintain professional development by staying informed of best practices in language teaching and educational innovation

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, Education or a related field

Teaching qualification or recognised teaching certification, preferably PGCE, TEFL, CELTA or equivalent international teaching credential

Minimum 2-3 years of experience teaching Arabic at Primary or Secondary level in an international or multicultural school setting

Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic with excellent spoken and written English language skills

Strong knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and familiarity with colloquial Arabic dialects

Demonstrated ability to teach students of varying proficiency levels and learning styles

Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging, positive learning environment

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues and parents

Familiarity with international curriculum frameworks such as IGCSE, the IB PYP, MYP or DP is advantageous

Experience with digital learning tools and educational technology is crucial

Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practice
