Job summary

The DevOps & Application Engineer at StarHub Ltd will design, automate, and optimize the build-and-release ecosystem while ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of StarHub’s cloud-native platforms. They will manage Kubernetes operations, infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps workflows, while contributing production-grade application code across multiple languages.

This role accelerates engineering velocity by driving DevOps best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with DevOps practices and trunk-based development.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred).
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Shell, Python, Groovy).
• Hands-on Kubernetes operations across multi-cluster environments (EKS, OpenShift).
• Proficiency with GitOps workflows (Argo CD or Flux).
• Proficient in AWS provisioning (EKS, RDS/PostgreSQL, EC2, S3).
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Ability to contribute production-grade code (Python, Go, or TypeScript).
• Experience with observability tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
• Knowledge transfer and documentation skills; maintain developer portals (Backstage).

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce DevOps policies with emphasis on trunk-based development and CI gates.
• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins (Pipeline-as-Code).
• Write build scripts and tooling to automate the software delivery lifecycle.
• Administer multi-cluster Kubernetes environments including RBAC and autoscaling.
• Implement GitOps workflows (Argo CD or Flux) for reproducible deployments.
• Provision and manage AWS resources (EKS, RDS, EC2, S3, IAM).
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Contribute application code in Python, Go, or TypeScript and participate in design reviews.
• Establish observability with Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch; manage incident workflows (PagerDuty).
• Author technical docs and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
• Maintain Internal Developer Portal - Backstage.

Role Mission

The DevOps & Application Engineer will design, automate, andoptimizethe build-and-release ecosystem while ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of StarHub’s cloud-native platforms. They will manage Kubernetes operations, infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, andGitOpsworkflows, while contributing production-grade application code across multiple languages. This role accelerates engineering velocity by driving DevOps best practices, strengthening observability, and enabling consistent, high-quality deployments across the IS Division.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and enforce DevOps policies and best practices, with a strong focus on trunk-based development (short-lived feature branches, continuous integration gates, automated code-quality checks).
• Design, develop, andmaintainCI/CD pipelines in Jenkins using Pipeline-as-Code (shared libraries, scripted & declarative).
• Write and manage build scripts and infrastructure tooling (Shell, Python, Groovy) to automate the software-delivery lifecycle.
• Administer multi-cluster Kubernetes environments (EKS & OCP), including Helm chart development, RBAC, network policies, and autoscaling.
• ImplementGitOpsworkflows (Argo CD or Flux) to promote reproducible, auditable deployments.
• Provision and manage AWS resources (EKS, RDS/PostgreSQL, EC2, S3, IAM).
• Build andmaintainInfrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Contribute application code in Python, Go, or TypeScript,participatingin design reviews and performance profiling.
• Establishobservability with Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and incident-response workflows (PagerDuty).
• Author technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
