Job summary

Rystad Energy in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced accounting leader to own the APAC close, reporting to Oslo's Head of Group Accounting. You will manage multi-entity accounting, consolidation, intercompany work and local compliance across Singapore, China, Malaysia, Australia, Japan, and India.

This hands-on role requires independence across jurisdictions, driving process improvements in a fast-paced, technology-forward environment, mentoring local staff, and partnering with group finance for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required; professional certification preferred.
• 8+ years of accounting experience with multi-entity or regional scope, ideally across APAC.
• Hands-on involvement in transactions, reconciliations, and day-to-day processes.
• Strong IFRS knowledge is advantageous; familiarity with Xero is a plus.
• Experience in statutory reporting across multiple jurisdictions including APAC.
• Comfortable using AI tools to improve efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close and financial reporting for APAC entities across Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Japan, India, and China.
• Perform day-to-day operational tasks including intercompany invoicing and payments, payroll reviews.
• Collaborate with revenue controllers on invoicing, AR follow-up, and client portals.
• Manage statutory reporting, audits, and local filings for APAC jurisdictions.
• Lead and develop local accounting staff across APAC; drive process improvements and system integration.
