Job summary

Evonik is seeking an Analyst, Cost Accounting in Selangor to manage daily cost accounting transactions and monthly closings. You will work closely with Local Financial Services and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, timely financial statements across Asia Pacific and other regions.

The role requires a degree in accounting or finance, 2–3 years of cost accounting experience, strong English communication, and proficiency with SAP or ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in accounting or finance.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in cost accounting or financial operations.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of IFRS and general accounting principles.
• Experience with SAP or major ERP systems and MS Office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost accounting transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
• Execute month end close, quarter and year end activities according to procedures.
• Collaborate with Local Financial Services and regional teams for timely closure of accounts.
• Maintain strong working relationships with SSC, Local Services and COE teams.
• Ensure closing timelines meet corporate requirements and SOPs.
• Support internal controls documentation and audits; drive process improvements across regions.

Review and escalate local specific variances to Key Accountant/Team Lead for further assessment and discussion* Ensure queries are attended to and resolved in a timely, responsible and proactive manner* Perform troubleshooting of issues and challenges related to Cost Accounting processes* Execute Internal Control System according to the guideline and ensure the Internal Control System documentation is in place* Supporting Local Financial Services in terms of internal and external audit* Support in the implementation of project initiatives rollout by Global team* Support standardization across regions and globally by focusing on alignment of end to end business process areas, system and tools.* Continuously explore alternatives in driving process improvement and harmonization in areas of operation* Undertake any ad hoc assignment, projects and migrations that may be assigned from time to time.* Able to provide guidance with support from Key Accountant and Senior Analyst if there are issues faced by the junior analyst on work related matters.* Perform back up duty as and when required.* Support in knowledge transfer activities for the team.* The Analyst will be responsible for daily/monthly KPIs for the assigned tasks and to ensure all deadlines are adhered to.* *Resolve accounting issues in consultation with the Key Accountant / Team Lead / Functional Manager.***REQUIREMENTS*** Holds a Degree or Professional Qualification in Accounting or Finance.* Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience.* Strong communications skills both verbal and written in English.* A team player, meticulous, able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.* Proficiency in languages would be an added advantage depending on the individual assignment, different language skills will be required.* Knowledge and understanding on IFRS, General Accounting principles and Accounting functions.* *Experience working in SAP or other major ERP system’s work environment would be an added advantage.** Computer literate and competent in Microsoft office* Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, ability to meet deadlines and execute commitments.* Exposure to shared services environment would be advantageous.**Your Application**To ensure that your application is proceeded as quickly as possible and to protect the environment, please apply online via our careers portal.
