Job summary

Columbia Asia Group in Malaysia seeks a nurse to provide basic nursing care under supervision and to operate an ambulance for patient transport.

The role requires PSV driving license, the ability to handle patients with care, and to maintain equipment and infection control while supporting ER staff.

At least two years hospital/clinic experience is preferred; successful candidates will contribute to safe patient transfers and efficient billing.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years hospital/clinic experience.
• Skill in driving to avoid sudden motions detrimental to patients.

Responsibilities

• Serve patients with care and compassion respecting spiritual and cultural beliefs.
• Check ambulance daily and ensure it is in good condition.
• Check equipment in ambulance as per checklist; replace supplies and disposables.
• Record vehicle mileage and arrange servicing as needed.
• Transport sick patients to and from hospitals and nursing homes.
• Assist in placing patients on stretchers and loading into ambulance.
• Maintain infection control by removing/replacing soiled linens and equipment.
• Assist ER staff in transporting patients on stretchers for ward/diagnostics.
• Assist in shaving male patients for procedures.
• Record chargeable items used for ER patients for billing.
• Disinfect equipment and items on discharge of patients in ER.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Provides basic nursing care/ services under the guidance of the Supervisor.

Drives ambulance to transport patients to and from hospitals.

Maintain of ambulance and ensure in good working condition.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1. Serve all patients with care and compassion with respect to spiritual and cultural beliefs.
• 2. Check the ambulance daily and ensure it is in good condition.
• 3. Check the equipment and items in the ambulance as per the checklist daily. Replace supplies and disposable items on ambulances.
• 4. Keep record of the mileage of the vehicle and ensure vehicle is sent for servicing as per record.
• 5. Drives ambulance to transport sick patients to and from other hospitals and nursing homes.
• 6. Assist in placing patients on stretcher and loads stretcher into ambulance.
• 7. Remove and replace soiled linens and equipment in order to maintain infection control conditions.
• 8. Assist ER staff in transporting of patients on stretchers to ward and for diagnostic procedures.
• 9. Assist in shaving of male patients for procedures.
• 10. Ensure all chargeable items used for ER patients are duly recorded for effective billing purposes.
• 11. Assist Staff Nurse in disinfecting of equipment and items on discharge of patients in ER.
• 12. Perform any other duties as assigned or directed.

Education and Requirements:

At least 2 years experience in hospital / clinic work.

Skill in driving to avoid sudden motions detrimental to patients.

Special Demands:

PSV (public service vehicle) Driving License.

The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
