Job summary

Randstad Malaysia seeks a senior AI/Data & Cloud leader to design and execute the organization's AI transformation roadmap. You will guide data engineering, ML operations, and cloud modernization across AWS, Azure, or GCP while aligning tech initiatives with business goals.

You will lead a cross-functional team, manage stakeholders up to C-level, and champion change management to drive adoption of new AI tools and data practices across the group.

Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in technology, with a significant portion dedicated to AI, Data Engineering, and Cloud Architecture.
• Leadership: Proven experience managing and scaling technical teams, with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale transformation projects.
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of modern data engineering principles, AI/ML operationalization (MLOps), and big data technologies.
• Cloud Proficiency: Extensive hands-on exposure to major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and leading on-premise to cloud migration initiatives.
• Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-phase technical projects on time and within budget.
• Exceptional Communicator: You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of influencing C-level executives and guiding deeply technical engineers.
• Collaborative & Approachable: You have a genuinely good personality—you are empathetic, easy to work with, and capable of building strong relationships across all departments.
• Problem Solver: You thrive in ambiguity and possess the strategic mindset needed to navigate the complexities of legacy system modernization.

Responsibilities

• AI Strategy & Execution: Design and execute the organization's AI transformation roadmap, identifying opportunities to leverage machine learning, generative AI, and automation to solve business challenges.
• Modernization & Cloud Migration: Lead the architectural shift from on-premise and legacy infrastructure to modern cloud-native ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP), ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-effective deployments.
• Data Engineering Leadership: Oversee the design and implementation of robust data pipelines, data lakes, and modern data architectures required to fuel advanced AI models.
• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a cross-functional team of data engineers, AI specialists, and cloud architects. Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between the technology team and executive leadership. Translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
• Change Management: Champion the adoption of new AI tools and modern data practices across the broader organization, ensuring smooth transitions and high user adoption.
