STRATEQ GROUP (Strateq Sdn Bhd) in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a motivated AI Engineer to support AI-driven initiatives, applying Copilot and Databricks to real business problems.

You will design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered solutions, integrate with enterprise data, and ensure governance and quality through testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree required in CS/IT/DS/AI/Software Engineering or related field.
• 1–5 years of AI engineering or related experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot and Databricks.
• Programming in Python or SQL.
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts, generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering.
• Familiarity with APIs, data integration, cloud platforms, or workflow automation tools.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• AI Solution Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered applications, automation solutions, and intelligent workflows.
• Microsoft Copilot: Build and enhance solutions using Copilot and related tools, including prompt engineering and workflow automation.
• Databricks & Data Processing: Prepare, transform, analyse, and manage datasets for AI applications and analytics.
• Generative AI & LLMs: Explore and implement generative AI capabilities, LLMs, and RAG where applicable.
• Data Integration: Integrate AI solutions with data platforms, APIs, and enterprise systems.
• Testing & Optimisation: Conduct functional testing, validate AI outputs, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance.
• Responsible AI & Governance: Apply data privacy, security, access control, and responsible AI practices.
• Documentation & Collaboration: Prepare technical docs and collaborate with stakeholders.

Job description

We are looking for a motivated and technically capable AI Engineer to support AI-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience or a strong foundation in Microsoft Copilot, Databricks, data engineering, and AI solution development.

You will work with business and technical teams to develop, implement, and optimise AI‑powered solutions that improve operational efficiency, automate workflows, and enable data‑driven decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

AI Solution Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy AI‑powered applications, automation solutions, and intelligent workflows to address business requirements.

Microsoft Copilot: Build and enhance solutions using Microsoft Copilot and related tools, including prompt engineering, workflow automation, and integration with enterprise data sources.

Databricks & Data Processing: Work with Databricks to prepare, transform, analyse, and manage datasets for AI applications, analytics, and machine learning use cases.

Generative AI & LLMs: Explore and implement generative AI capabilities, large language models (LLMs), retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), and AI‑assistant knowledge retrieval where applicable.

Data Integration: Integrate AI solutions with relevant data platforms, APIs, and enterprise systems to support business processes.

Testing & Optimisation: Conduct functional testing, validate AI‑generated outputs, troubleshoot issues, and improve solution accuracy, performance, and reliability.

Responsible AI & Governance: Apply appropriate data privacy, information security, access control, and responsible AI practices when developing and deploying solutions.

Documentation & Collaboration: Prepare technical documentation, share findings, and collaborate with business users, data engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver effective AI solutions.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Approximately 1–5 years of relevant experience in AI engineering, software development, data engineering, analytics, or automation. Candidates with strong relevant project experience may also be considered.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Copilot and Databricks, with hands‑on exposure to developing or supporting AI and data‑related solutions.

Basic to intermediate programming skills in Python, SQL, or other relevant programming languages.

Understanding of AI/ML concepts, generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, and data processing.

Familiarity with APIs, data integration, cloud platforms, or workflow automation tools.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new technologies.

Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
