Job summary

Lenovo is seeking a backend/AI software engineer in Kuala Lumpur to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for Sales IT systems using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices. You will implement REST APIs, work with ML/AI components in Python, and ensure performance and reliability in production environments.

This role collaborates with data teams, handles relational databases, and embraces modern DevOps practices such as Git, CI/CD, testing, and code reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required
• Graduates from top-tier universities or those holding a Master’s degree are preferred
• Solid programming skills in Java and Python
• Familiarity with Spring Framework (Spring Boot preferred)
• Understanding of microservices architecture and API development
• Hands-on experience with ML/DL frameworks e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services for Sales IT systems using Java and Spring Boot
• Build and support microservices (REST APIs, integration patterns, service reliability/observability basics)
• Develop AI/ML-related code in Python including data preparation, training experimentation, and evaluation
• Integrate trained models into applications ensuring performance and reliability
• Work with relational databases and SQL including data modeling and performance considerations
• Use Git, code reviews, testing, CI/CD to deliver production-quality software
• Partner with stakeholders to clarify business needs and translate them into technical solutions
