Job summary

Lenovo in Malaysia is seeking a backend engineer to design, develop, and maintain backend services for Sales IT systems using Java and Spring Boot. You will build and support microservices, APIs, and ensure performance and reliability.

The role also involves AI/ML work in Python, data preparation, model training, and integrating models into applications, collaborating with stakeholders and managing relational databases with modern CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Solid programming skills in Java and Python.
• Familiarity with Spring Framework (Spring Boot preferred).
• Understanding of microservices architecture and API development.
• Hands-on experience with ML/DL frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
• Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services for Sales IT systems using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and support microservices (REST APIs, integration patterns, reliability/observability).
• Develop AI/ML code in Python, including data prep, training experiments, and evaluation.
• Integrate trained models into apps (online/batch) with performance and stability.
• Collaborate on data modeling with relational databases and SQL.
• Apply modern engineering practices (Git, code reviews, testing, CI/CD) in production workflows.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
