Job summary

New Britain Palm Oil in Malaysia is seeking an agronomy professional to conduct oil palm trials and plan fertiliser programmes for SD Guthrie estates, advising on good agronomic practices to boost yield.

You will train staff, assist in data gathering, supervise sampling, and implement sustainability practices while traveling to estates as needed and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant agricultural science fields.
• Fresh graduates welcome; up to two years' experience considered.
• Knowledge of agronomy, soil fertility, plant nutrition, fertiliser management, field experimentation, and sustainable practices.
• Experience with oil palm, plantation agriculture, soil or foliar sampling is an advantage.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Plant Science, or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; candidates with up to two years of relevant experience may also be considered.
• Basic knowledge of agronomy, soil fertility, plant nutrition, fertiliser management, field experimentation, and sustainable agricultural practices.
• Internship, research, or fieldwork exposure in oil palm, plantation agriculture, soil or foliar sampling, crop monitoring, or agricultural data collection is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; exposure to statistical, GIS, GPS, or digital field data collection tools is advantageous.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to maintain accurate field and research records.
• Able to work independently with guidance and collaborate effectively with research, estate, and operational teams.
• Willing to undertake regular fieldwork, travel to estates or research locations, and work under tropical outdoor conditions.
• Committed to complying with the company’s safety, health, environmental, and operational requirements.
