Job summary

SK8 Engineering is seeking an entry-level Service Engineer to drive after-sales growth through annual maintenance contracts, preventive and corrective maintenance, and upgrade projects. You will develop service solutions, prepare proposals, and ensure technical documentation is in order.

You will visit customers, assess equipment, and coordinate with engineering teams to deliver practical maintenance plans. Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia communication is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
• Fresh graduates with Engineering diploma/degree encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with mission-critical facilities and 24/7 service operations is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong communication skills in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia needed.
• Customer service, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand the after-sales business through AMC, preventive and corrective maintenance, spare parts, refurbishment, retrofit, and upgrade projects.
• Identify opportunities within existing customer accounts to increase recurring service revenue.
• Conduct regular customer visits to understand operational challenges and recommend service solutions.
• Prepare service proposals, maintenance contracts, quotations, and technical documentation.
• Conduct site inspections and technical assessments to identify maintenance requirements.
• Recommend service solutions based on equipment condition and operational needs.
• Review customer specifications and provide technical clarifications.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Service teams to develop maintenance solutions.
• Monitor service delivery to ensure SLA compliance.
• Support emergency breakdown response and customer escalation as needed.
• Ensure documentation of service reports, inspection findings, and recommendations.
• Promote genuine spare parts and lifecycle management solutions.
• Maintain regular communication on maintenance schedules and recommendations.
• Support marketing initiatives, customer seminars, and technical presentations.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and expand the after-sales business through Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, spare parts, refurbishment, retrofit, and upgrade projects.


2. Identify opportunities within existing customer accounts to increase recurring service revenue.


3. Conduct regular customer visits to understand operational challenges and recommend suitable service solutions.


4. Prepare service proposals, maintenance contracts, quotations, and technical documentation.


5. Conduct site inspections and technical assessments to identify maintenance requirements.


6. Recommend appropriate service solutions based on equipment condition and operational requirements.


7. Review customer specifications and provide technical clarifications.


8. Coordinate with Engineering and Service teams to develop practical maintenance solutions.


9. Monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with customer requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).


10. Support emergency breakdown response and customer escalation when required.

Competencies Requirements (Education, Training and Experience):

1. Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.


2. Fresh graduates with a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering disciplines are encouraged to apply.


3. Familiarity with mission-critical facilities and 24/7 service operations is an advantage.


4. Good understanding of generator enclosure systems, diesel generator support systems, mechanical and electrical equipment, HVAC and ventilation systems, acoustic enclosures, fuel systems, and preventive & corrective maintenance.


5. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.


6. Good command of Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking customers, suppliers, and business partners.
