Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital in Malaysia is seeking an Admission Clerk to support the Business Office in registering Inpatient and Daycare patients across all systems. You will collect and verify personal information, ensure deposits are handled correctly, and guide patients through admission documents to secure signed consent.

Qualifications

• SPM or equivalent education required.
• 2 years' working experience in healthcare is advantageous.
• Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Register IP/DC patients timely in all systems.
• Update patient/guardian information for each episode; photocopy NRIC and documents.
• Ensure patients understand admission documents before signing.
• Adhere to PDPA.
• For elective cash paying cases, ensure full deposit payment; for billing, ensure valid IGH.
• For life-threatening or emergency cases, obtain approvals or deposit balances as required.
• Liaise with Bed Manager/UM on bed allocation; optimize ward usage.
• Prepare daily collection reports and bank collections per policy.
• Maintain good relationships with patients/guardians.
• Escort patients to nursing counters as needed.
• Answer queries on billing matters.
• Prepare reports for management review.
• Carry out duties per KPJ policies and SOPs.
