Job summary

Liberty Specialty Markets is seeking a data-focused analyst to support pricing model delivery and management information across multiple platforms. The role emphasizes reducing Excel usage over time and enabling data-driven decisions.

The candidate will drive self-service MI, contribute to model development for risk selection and portfolio monitoring, and collaborate across stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Requires 2.1 or above in a numerate/scientific degree and an A/ A* in A-Level Maths, STPM or equivalent.
• Strong IT skills with practical experience in Excel, SQL, Python, R, PowerPivot, PowerBI, and DAX.
• Experience in (re)insurance pricing or analytics is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of new pricing models and MI across LSM platforms, including deploying models.
• Drive delivery of self-service MI to inform pricing decisions in key forums.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of new pricing models and MI (Management Information) as part of the wider underwriting transformation including deploying new and updated models on all LSM platforms. These are on a mix of technologies from vendor based (Hyperexponential Renew), in house and Excel based platforms. Strategic direction is to limit usage of Excel and end user computing tools over time.
• Drive the delivery of insightful and timely self-service MI on portfolios, lines of business and key risks to drive better data driven decisions within key forums such as pricing committees, quarterly business reviews and deep dive.
• Collaborate, influence and lead development and rollout of analytical models (risk selection, portfolio monitoring, trend identification etc.) that help drive competitive advantage. Dynamically manage multiple analytics projects affecting multiple stakeholders ensuring quality technical delivery and good stakeholder management.
• Be responsible for the delivery of projects in compliance against both internal and external standards.

Skills and Experience

• Requires educational attainments: 2.1 or above (or equivalent) in a numerate/scientific degree and an A / A* in A-Level Maths, STPM or equivalent
• Strong IT skills with practical experience (and/or desire to learn) in Excel, SQL, Python, R, PowerPivot, PowerBI, and DAX
• Modelling and analytics in the (re)insurance industry is an advantage but not a requirement. Relevant experience from data science, consulting, commercial or personal lines also welcomed.
• Experience working with rating technologies for example Hyperexponential Renew, Rulebook, Emblem, Radar, Tyche etc. would be an advantage but is not a requirement
• Experience of working in a non-life commercial (re)insurance pricing team or doing predictive analytics
• Ability to utilise relevant methods, data, and tools effectively to solve technical problems, communicate technical concepts effectively to varying audiences, draw meaningful conclusions and make recommendations, enhance actuarial analyses ensuring clear audit trails.
