Job summary

Manulife Insurance Malaysia is seeking an actuarial professional to shape modelling work, product development, and capital management. You will partner with business stakeholders and senior management to provide clear insights that influence strategy and performance.

The role involves reviewing actuarial modelling, communicating results clearly, and mentoring junior staff while maintaining thorough documentation and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, and Mathematics.
  • Preferably 1-2 years relevant experience.
  • Ability to apply actuarial theories to practical solutions.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaborating with colleagues at different locations.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assist actuarial modelling work (new product implementation, capital regime, model enhancements).
  • Explain results to business units and senior management.
  • Assist in training and development of junior staff; quality control reviews.

Job description

Join a high-impact actuarial team where you will shape critical business decisions through advanced modelling, product development, and capital management initiatives. You will partner closely with business stakeholders and senior management, providing clear insights that influence strategy and performance.

Position Responsibilities:

Review and assist business unit in Actuarial modelling work such as new product implementation, new capital regime implementation, model enhancement, basis change and Axis version upgrade. Understand actuarial model and able to explain and communicate results to/answer questions from business unit directly, including communication with senior management. Assist in training and development of junior staff including serving as first reviewer of work quality control. Maintain and improve documentation of tasks for general reference. Initiate process improvements and streamline tasks wherever possible. Continue to refine analytical skills and develop business knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, and Mathematics. Preferably 1-2 years relevant experience. Demonstrate ability to apply actuarial theories to develop practical solutions to various assignments and projects. Comfortable to work independently with minimal guidance and collaborate with colleague from different location.
