Job summary

Manulife Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Valuation Manager to support actuarial valuation production, reporting, forecasting and business planning activities. Working closely with the Senior Manager and Head of Valuation, you will help deliver timely analyses, maintain documentation and controls, and support in forecasting and scenario analysis across the business.

  • Associate-level actuarial student progressing toward professional qualification from a recognized actuarial organization.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant actuarial experience in life insurance valuation, financial reporting, pricing, or related actuarial functions.
  • Experience with actuarial modelling systems is preferred; knowledge of AXIS would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of IFRS 17 is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across actuarial, finance, and business functions.

  • Prepare reserve analyses, Drivers of Earnings reporting, and management information.
  • Assist in forecasting, planning and scenario analysis.
  • Maintain actuarial documentation, controls, and reporting processes.
  • Monitor persistency, claims experience, and portfolio performance indicators.
  • Assist in analyses supporting crediting rate, cap rate, and dividend-related reviews.
  • Support investigations into emerging trends and profitability drivers.

The Valuation Manager is responsible for supporting actuarial valuation production, reporting, forecasting, and business planning activities. The role works closely with the Senior Manager and Head of Valuation to support the timely delivery of actuarial analyses, reporting, forecasting, and business planning activities.

Position Responsibilities
  • Valuation and Financial Management
  • Support production of actuarial valuation results and financial reporting deliverables.
  • Prepare reserve analyses, Drivers of Earnings reporting, and management information.
  • Support investigations into emerging experience and valuation movements.
  • Support forecasting, planning, and scenario analysis activities.
  • Maintain actuarial documentation, controls, and reporting processes.
  • In-Force Business Management
  • Support monitoring of persistency, claims experience, and key portfolio performance indicators.
  • Assist in analyses supporting crediting rate, cap rate, and dividend-related reviews.
  • Support investigations into emerging trends and profitability drivers.
  • Business Support & Advisory
  • Perform actuarial analyses supporting business initiatives, projects, and management requests.
  • Support assessments of business opportunities, product enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with automation and process enhancement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
