Job summary

MVC Resources is seeking an Accounting & Finance Manager in Malaysia to oversee the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions across the group. You will manage monthly close, reporting, budgeting, and cash flow, with responsibility for property development project accounting and team leadership.

The role requires 5–8 years of relevant experience, strong technical knowledge of Malaysian standards and tax, and the ability to drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• ACCA / MIA / CPA qualification will be advantageous.
• 5–8 years of accounting/finance experience; managerial level preferred.
• Experience in property development or construction industry encouraged.
• Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, tax and statutory requirements.
• Experience in leading and developing a finance team.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Excel and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full set of accounting and finance functions, including monthly closing, financial reporting, AP, AR, GL and cash flow management.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, financial reports and analysis for management.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting and financial performance with insights and recommendations.
• Handle accounting for property development projects, including project costing and monitoring.
• Prepare budget, forecast and variance analysis with cross-department collaboration.
• Ensure timely year-end accounts and audit schedules; liaise with auditors and tax agents.
• Oversee tax compliance and planning with external advisors.
• Strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes.
• Lead, coach and develop the accounting & finance team.
• Handle ad-hoc financial and management reporting matters as required.

We are currently assisting an established Malaysian property group in hiring an Accounting & Finance Manager to oversee the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full set of accounting and finance functions, including monthly closing, financial reporting, AP, AR, GL and cash flow management.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, financial reports and analysis for management’s review.
• Monitor the Group’s cash flow, budgeting and financial performance, providing insights and recommendations where required.
• Handle accounting matters for property development projects, including project costing, development expenditure and financial monitoring.
• Prepare budget, forecast and variance analysis and work closely with relevant departments to monitor financial performance.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of year-end accounts and audit schedules, liaising with external auditors, tax agents, company secretary and other professional parties.
• Oversee tax compliance and planning, including coordination with external tax advisors.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements and internal policies.
• Strengthen and maintain effective internal controls and accounting processes.
• Review and improve existing finance processes and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide financial information and analysis to support management and business decision-making.
• Lead, coach and supervise the accounting & finance team.
• Handle other ad-hoc financial and management reporting matters as required.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA / MIA / CPA will be an advantage.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, with experience at Managerial level preferred.
• Candidates with experience in property development or the construction industry are encouraged to apply.
