Job summary

Matrix Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. invites a seasoned Expense Analyst to join the Group Finance team, focusing on accounts payable and financial reporting.

The role covers employee claims, vendor payments, accruals, and compliance with policies and regulations while leveraging automation and AI tools to drive efficiency and accuracy in a fast-paced startup environment. You will collaborate across finance, stakeholders, and auditors, delivering timely insights and supporting withholding tax submissions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or Finance.
• 8+ years of relevant experience, incl. minimum 3 years in Accounts Payable.
• Tech-savvy with hands-on proficiency on AI tools for workflow optimization and data tasks.
• Willingness to read up on policies and regulations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee (review and process) employee claims and vendor payment processes, using digital expense management systems and automated payment platforms.
• Perform reporting activities using financial software, dashboards, and advanced data tools.
• Ensure accruals accuracy and reasonableness.
• Handle budget recording, reporting and analytical processes; ensure system requests are correctly populated.
• Review processes and systems to meet business/operations needs.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and leverage AP automation/technologies (e.g., OCR invoice processing, workflow software).
• Support Finance team members in information requests and communicate with stakeholders.
• Assist with withholding tax forms and closing expense reporting if required.
