Job summary

Power Root Berhad in Malaysia is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to manage end-to-end AP activities, vendor payments, and data accuracy while supporting month-end close and audits. You will contribute to process improvements and the rollout of a new Vendor Management System, with a focus on accuracy and timelines.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 3 years of AP experience, strong MS Excel skills, and familiarity with SAP/Oracle/QuickBooks or similar

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable or Accounting.
• Strong understanding of the full-cycle AP process (invoice verification, posting, and payment).
• Proficient in MS Excel and familiar with accounting/ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/QuickBooks or similar).
• Tech-savvy with ability to learn new digital tools and systems.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Proactive and improvement-minded with ability to identify gaps in processes and suggest enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable Process (Full Cycle) – End-to-end AP activities including invoice receipt, posting, approval workflow, and payment execution.
• Vendor & Payment Management – Liaise with suppliers on billing enquiries, manage vendor accounts and master data, ensure timely payments.
• Invoice & Data Accuracy – Ensure accurate coding, posting, and reconciliation of invoices with attention to detail.
• Time & Deadline Management – Prioritise tasks to meet payment deadlines, monthly closing schedules, and reporting.
• Reconciliation & Reporting – Assist in AP reconciliations, ageing analysis, and support audits.
• Month-End Closing – Support the monthly closing process and ensure all AP transactions are recorded within closing deadlines.
• Down Payment & Overdue Clean-up – Review and clear outstanding vendor down payments and overdue balances.
• Process Improvement & Automation – Support rollout and adoption of the new Vendor Management System and drive process improvements.
