Eye Level Johor is seeking an experienced finance professional to lead accounting across the group, including AP, AR, GL and month-end closes, with centralized payroll managed separately.
You will drive planning, budgeting, variance analysis, and accurate reporting for construction projects and multiple entities, ensuring governance and financial control across the organization.
a. Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and full month-end and year-end closing processes for all companies within the group. Payroll administration is centrally managed under Johmanco Sdn. Bhd.
b. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and statutory financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
c. Maintain proper accounting records and ensure all financial transactions are recorded in compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
d. Monitor cash flow, project expenditures, cost control, and overall financial performance to ensure operational efficiency and project profitability.
e. Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis for construction projects and overall company performance.
f. Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support management decision-making.
g. Analyze project costing, contract margins, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and overall construction project financial performance.
h. Support project teams in monitoring project cost tracking, contract financial performance, and progress billing.
i. Review subcontractor claims, payment certifications, and project-related financial commitments in accordance with contract terms and company policies.
j. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, audit requirements, and internal company policies.
k. Develop, implement, and improve internal control systems, accounting procedures, and financial processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and governance.
l. Coordinate audits, tax matters, and statutory requirements with external parties including auditors, tax agents, company secretary, bankers, consultants, and relevant authorities.
m. Manage and oversee accounting and financial reporting for all companies within the group structure, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely reporting.
n. Provide financial guidance and support to management and project teams to ensure informed decision-making and strong financial control.
o. Perform ad-hoc finance, accounting, and administrative duties as assigned by management.
a. Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
b. Minimum of 3 years’ relevant working experience in accounting or finance, preferably with exposure to supervisory or managerial responsibilities in the construction industry.
c. Strong knowledge of accounting standards, SST (Sales and Service Tax), tax regulations, and statutory compliance requirements in Malaysia.
d. Proficient in accounting software such as SQL Accounting, AutoCount, or other relevant financial systems.
e. Strong command of Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
f. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and high attention to detail.
g. Proven ability to supervise and guide a small finance/accounting team, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
h. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
i. High level of integrity, professionalism, and responsibility in handling confidential financial information.
