Wezmart International Berhad seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee bookkeeping and accounting functions across business units. Lead a team, ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting, and liaise with auditors to deliver management accounts on schedule.

The ideal candidate is results-driven, adaptable to digital accounting tools, and capable of guiding a team to success.

Qualifications

• Qualifications include CFA/CPA/MIA/CIMA/ACCA or degree in finance/accounting.
• 5–7 years of experience in accounting/finance with prior leadership.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset and openness to new tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting team and oversee day-to-day accounting operations.
• Review management accounts for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide coaching and motivation to team members.
• Monitor KPIs, departmental performance, and collections.
• Collaborate with other departments and business units.
• Handle ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
• External: ensure timely delivery of management accounts to clients/auditors.
• Maintain strong client relationships and address requests to maximize value.

About the Role:

The role is critical in ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting. You will lead a team, liaise with auditors, and ensure management accounts are delivered on schedule. The ideal candidate is results-driven, adaptable to digital accounting tools, and capable of guiding a team to success.

Key Responsibilities:

Internal:

Lead the accounting team and oversee day-to-day accounting operations.

Review Management Accounts Reports prepared by subordinates for accuracy and completeness.

Provide guidance, coaching, and motivation to team members to resolve issues efficiently.

Monitor departmental performance, KPIs, and collections.

Collaborate with other departments and business units to ensure smooth operations.

Handle ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.

External:

Ensure timely delivery of Management Accounts Reports to clients and auditors.

Communicate clearly with clients regarding the progress of accounts (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly).

Build and maintain strong client relationships.

Address client requests or issues to maximize the value of services provided.

Required Experience & Skills:

Professional qualification such as CFA, CPA, MIA, CIMA, ACCA, or a bachelor's degree in finance/accounting.

5-7 years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance, with prior team leadership experience preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with technical and non-technical teams.

Analytical mindset, comfortable with financial data, and open to adopting new tools and technologies.
