Job summary

Zebra Technologies in Malaysia is seeking an Accountant responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial statements and month-end closings for APAC entities. You will handle reconciliations, ledger entries, and coordinate with cross-functional teams including AR, AP, and FP&A to ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and local regulations.

The role requires 1–3 years in accounting, a degree in Accounting/Finance, and familiarity with Oracle ERP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in an MNC or accounting firm.
• Knowledge of transfer pricing and treasury a plus.
• Experience with Oracle ERP and BI tools enhances candidacy.
• Strong written and verbal communication; Mandarin a plus.

• Manage daily general accounting activities.
• Perform month-end close and prepare financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, P&L).
• Maintain records of general ledger accounts and journal entries for monthly close.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, SOX, and local regulations.

• Support process improvements and ad hoc projects.

What We're Looking For:

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial statements and the month‑end closing activities for assigned legal entities in APAC region. Works on assigned account reconciliations, and establishes documents, and works with department staff on applying accounting processes and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing daily general accounting activities.
• Performing month‑end activities and prepares financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, profit‑and‑loss, and other accounting statements and participates in regional financial statement reviews.
• Prepares and maintains records of general ledger accounts and all journal entries necessary for monthly close, monthly account reconciliations and investigates reconciling items.
• Maintains compliance with accounting standards and regulations (e.g., U.S. GAAP, SOX, internal controls, accounting policies and procedures, inclusive of local regulations).
• Drives US and statutory accounting GAAP compliance, conversant in IFRS and US GAAP and the impacts to statutory accounting.
• Collaborates with cross‑functional internal and external stakeholders across geographies.
• Responsible for all statutory filings (annual accounts, direct and indirect tax returns, statistics, etc.), and coordinating the approach with external service providers.
• Collaborating with other departments - AR, AP, Payroll, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Internal Audit, Facilities, etc.
• Contributes to innovation ideas.
• Participates in projects and company initiatives, process improvements and ad hoc assignments.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance. Professional qualifications (e.g. ACCA/CPA) is an added advantage.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience, preferably in an accounting firm and/or MNC.
• Knowledge of transfer pricing and treasury will be an added advantage.
• Experienced user of Oracle ERP and conversant in Microsoft Office applications with strong capability in BI tools (such as PowerBI, Power Query, Power Pivot) is added advantage.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Conversant in Mandarin language is an added advantage.
• Proven experience in supporting cross‑functional teams and drive efficiencies.
• Results-oriented, analytical and has attention to details.
• Agile and an enthusiastic team player.
• Good time and workload management, able to meet strict deadlines with high quality output.
