Jora Malaysia is seeking an Accountant (Assistant Manager) to manage the company’s accounting functions, maintain the full set of accounts, support financial reporting, handle audit and tax matters, monitor inventory, and assist Bursa Malaysia reporting and company secretarial compliance.
The role ensures accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance in alignment with MFRS and Bursa Malaysia standards, working closely with external auditors and internal teams.

Accountant (Assistant Manager) is responsible for managing the company’s accounting functions, including maintaining full set of accounts, supporting financial reporting, handling audit and tax matters, monitoring inventory records, and assisting with Bursa Malaysia reporting and company secretarial compliance. The role ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
Maintain full set of accounts, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial analysis, and supporting schedules.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with MFRS and Bursa Malaysia requirements.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Assist in the preparation of financial information and supporting schedules for quarterly results announcements and Bursa Malaysia disclosures.
Ensure compliance with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and reporting timelines.
Support preparation of annual report financial sections and related disclosures.
Liaise with external auditors and assist in the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documents.
Coordinate audit matters and ensure timely completion of statutory audit requirements.
Assist in strengthening internal control processes and financial procedures.
Assist in the preparation of corporate tax computation, deferred tax schedules, and tax filings.
Liaise with tax agents and relevant authorities on tax matters.
Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including SST where applicable.
Monitor inventory records and costing.
Participate in stock take exercises and investigate discrepancies (if required).
Work closely with operations and warehouse teams to maintain effective inventory control.
Coordinate with external company secretaries on statutory filings, board resolutions, and regulatory compliance.
Assist in preparing documents for board meetings, board papers, and Annual General Meetings (AGM).
Maintain proper documentation of corporate and statutory records.
Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
Provide financial insights to support management decision-making.
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Must be a Chartered Accountant and hold a valid professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, MIA, MICPA, or an equivalent recognized professional accounting qualification).
At least 10 years of relevant working experience.
Experience in full set accounts, audit coordination, tax matters, inventory accounting, Bursa reporting, and company secretarial coordination.
Knowledge of MFRS, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, and corporate governance practices is an advantage.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
