Job summary

The candidate should have 2–3+ years of accounting experience, a degree or professional qualification, and strong Excel skills. This full-time position is based in Malaysia and involves close collaboration with various stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3+ years of experience preparing full set of accounts and month-end closing.
• Degree/Diploma in Accounting or member of a professional accounting body.
• Solid understanding of accounting, financial reporting principles and tax law.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse daily payment operation reports for AU and MY markets.
• Cross-check daily operation reports and monitor daily settlement transactions.
• Perform daily accounting routine functions and reconcile client balances.
• Handle full set of accounts and reconciliation for Malaysia and Australia entities.
• Assist in annual statutory audit, taxation matters, and company secretarial matters.
• Support cash flow management and intercompany settlements.
• Contribute to improving quality of financial reporting and automate processes.

Requirements

Daily Operations

• Prepare and analyse daily reports for payment related operations for AU and MY market;
• Cross-checking daily operational reports prepared by team;
• Prepare and monitor daily settlement transactions in bank;
• Perform daily accounting routine functions.

Accounting and Reporting

• Handle full set of accounts and reconciliation reports for Malaysia and Australia entities;
• Assist in annual statutory audit, taxation matters and company secretarial matters;
• Support on cash flow management, intercompany transactions and settlement.
• Monitor and reconcile daily client account balances on daily basis;
• Prepare monthly and quarterly compliance reports to licensing authority (BNM / ASIC);
• Provide analyses and information in response to ad hoc requests from time to time.
• Work together with other teams to continuously improve the quality of financial reporting and automate internal operational processes.

What we are looking for:

• 2 to 3 years or above experiences in preparing full set of accounts and month-end closing;
• Degree/Diploma in Accounting or member of a professional accounting body
• Firm grasp of basic understanding of accounting, financial reporting principles and practices and tax law;
• Ability to work well in teams and independently;
• Great attention to detail; Strong work ethics, with a capability to manage confidential data and communicate with stakeholders;
• Experience in payment industry would be an advantage; Interest in working for a fintech start-up and enjoy working with numbers;
• Open mind with a willingness to learn; Proactive and possess excellent organizing skill;
• Possesses at least intermediate skills in Ms Excel and/or Googlesheet;
• Candidate with less experience can be considered as Accountant.
