Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Puchong, Selangor. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including recording transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Responsibilities include handling accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and supporting cash flow management. The role involves monitoring budgets, assisting with cost tracking for projects, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. The Accountant will collaborate with internal teams, prepare documentation for audits, generate financial reports for management, and help improve accounting processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Manage full sets of accounts for construction and property development projects, ensuring accurate and timely entries for general ledgers, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Handle project-specific billing, progress billings, retention sums, subcontractor claims and payment certifications.
• Perform regular account reconciliations including bank reconciliations, debtor aging analysis and creditor statement tracking.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, project cash flow forecasts and variance analysis against project budgets.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory accounting standards and tax regulations and coordinate smoothly with internal and external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretarial parties.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, general ledger management, and preparation of financial statements.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and cash flow monitoring.
• Understanding of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and basic audit procedures.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SQL, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for reporting and analysis.
• Relevant experience in an construction, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial setting is beneficial, as is familiarity with project cost tracking.
