Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee the property development companies' accounting and finance functions.   • Manage Group consolidation and project-related accounting matters.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretaries and bankers.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements and internal controls.
  • Support management on finance projects and identify financial risks.

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee the property development companies' accounting and finance functions. The role will lead and supervise the accounts team, manage financial closing and reporting, analyse financial performance, support budgeting and consolidation, liaise with auditors, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements and company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise and guide the Accounts team in all day-to-day accounting and finance activities, including staff performance and task allocation.
  • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of accounting records, management accounts, financial reporting and month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing.
  • Review and analyse financial performance, project profitability and variances against budget and forecast and provide recommendations to management.
  • Assist in annual budgeting, financial forecasting, cash flow planning and other financial analysis to support business decisions.
  • Manage Group consolidation and review project-related accounting matters, including development costs, revenue recognition, billings and cost monitoring.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers and other professional advisers and coordinate statutory audits.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory and tax requirements, internal policies and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Support management on financial and business projects, identify financial risks and continuously improve finance processes and reporting.
  • Perform other tasks or assignments assigned by the superior.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; professional qualification such as ACCA, MIA, CPA or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, preferably in property development, construction or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, consolidation, audit, taxation and accounting standards, with experience in property development accounting being an advantage.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to supervise, mentor and develop accounting staff.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
