Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an Account Executive to manage full set of accounts and project financial matters for a construction and interior fit-out business.

Responsibilities include AP/AR monitoring, supplier payments, progress billings, and monthly closings, with a focus on accuracy and timely reporting. Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Bachelor's in Accounting and have 2–3 years in construction accounting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or interior fit-out industry.
• Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, SST, e-Invoicing, and statutory compliance.
• Experience handling project accounts, progress claims, subcontractor payments, and retention accounts.
• Familiar with contract documentation, purchase orders, delivery orders, and payment certificates.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts and daily accounting operations.
• Prepare payment vouchers, supplier payments, and customer receipts.
• Monitor Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Prepare bank reconciliations and monthly financial reports.
• Handle project costing, monitor project expenses, and track project profitability.
• Prepare and monitor progress billings, progress claims, retention sums, and final account settlements.
• Verify subcontractor claims and supplier invoices against supporting documents.
• Coordinate with Project, Contract, and Procurement teams on project-related financial matters.
• Assist in monthly closing, audit schedules, tax matters, and statutory compliance.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting and project records.
• Experience in construction project accounting and contract administration.
• Knowledge of CIDB-related documentation and construction payment processes is an advantage.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Positive attitude, proactive and a good team player.
